Grilled Beef With Broccoli & Rice


1/2 Pound skirt or flap steak, cut in half (1/4 pound per serving)
1/2 Cup brown rice, uncooked
1 Cup water
1 Head broccoli
3 Cloves garlic
1/2 Tbsp olive oil
3 Tbsp Coconut Aminos (Or soy sauce, if you prefer)
Juice of 1/2 an orange
Salt & Pepper
Asian seasoning (I use Argyle Street Asian Blend from Spice House)
Grill or grill pan
Saute pan
Meat thermometer

1. Cook the rice
2. Marinate steak in coconut aminos and a little bit of Asian blend
3. In a saute pan, heat up the olive oil and toss in garlic, cook until slightly soft
4. Throw in broccoli and season with Asian blend
5. Grill steak on a grill or grill pan. Steak is medium rare when the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees. Remove from heat at 140-142 and let it rest before slicing. The meat will continue to cook while resting.
6. Slice beef and plate your dish.

• If you prefer your steak well done, heat it to an internal temp of 180 degrees
• Skirt and flap steaks cook very quickly so monitor that shit closely
• When beef is the main ingredient, it’s worth spending a little extra on a very good cut of meat
